It's been a very long time since I posted anything here, it's crazy how many Blogs I have. I have my first one over on wordpress.com, this Blog, My websites Blog (thinking of killing) and a new Blog over at blogger about custom blogging and web design. I don't know why I ever left vox, I have forgotten about the community aspect of it. Not to mention the ease of use in not only posting entries but in uploading images, music and videos.
maybe I should start using it again, there are lots of things I miss about it. One thing I won't do is start all that "technology news" stuff.
well my blog files for my site got corrupted (including the backup). Oh, well it gives me a chance to redesign my site (again). I don't know why but I am never happy with anything I do. Oh, well. I haven't blogged lately because I have sort of given up on the whole news thing, after all I was just posting stuff that was already seen on other professional sites like digg, techcrunch and dvorak.org/blog. Well it's back to the drawing board for me.
I recently remembered that i had a blogger blog that I never really used. So I decided to see how it compares to all the Blogging services I have used e.g. wordpress, vox and thingamablog.
Well it seems that Blogger is almost the same as thingamablog apart from thingamablog is uploaded via FTP to your own server and the templates are slightly coded differentley. well anyway if you want to see the one post i made It's here
I have made my site (sorta) but i haven't uploaded it because it just doesn't meet my needs, therefore I am going to use a program that I tried to use a long time ago but I messed it up and couldn't be bothered with it. The program is called thingamablog which is a program used to make a blog but does not require any PHP and is just CSS and HTML. I have seen it being used but the templates are ugly so i will have a bit of work to do but i will get there. It should do everything i need.
It allows you to create your entries and post them and It creates an XML file (RSS feed) but for some reason it does not have a commenting system which is stupid because it's called thingamablog but i can easily fix that. The program is also opensource.
Go HERE to find out more about thingamablog.
I Found this cool site for all you, it's called blog talk radio. It's targeted at bloggers and podcasters who want to to hold a live telephone conversation with up to 5 people on a phone line at once. Anyone can listen live to a call on the phone or through windows media player like a live web radio show. listeners can download a archived version of the conversation later. This also gives the opportunity for listeners to give live feedback via IM. Revenue from contextual advertising is split 50/50 with the show host. juggling live conversations with feedback from live listeners may require skill. I don't know whether text bloggers would want to have live phone conversations, but if they do blog talk radio is a good service.

It almost killed me to write like that, thankfully that's the only blog i have seen with that writing on. Trying to decipher that when talking on MSN messenger (that's what we mainly use in the UK) is a different matter.
I was rushing through all my RSS feed that i subscribe to when something on slashdot caught my eye the words "Dvorak" and "Rants" i new John C Dvorak does a lot of articles and blogging but to see him on slashdot was the lat thing i expected. Anyway i read through the article and it's funny as a lot of Dvorak's work is. It was all about CSS or cascading style sheets and why they bug him. it's wort checking out.
After months of waiting i received a vox invite, i wasn't really expecting it this soon but it was just checking my mail before i packed up and i was really surprised that my invite arrived. I first heard about vox on commandN when Amber MacArthur suggested vox in her web picks section. I signed up for an invite and waited, and waited.....then heard Leo Leporte and Amber Mac talk about it the the podcast Inside the net. Any way i have been blogging for a couple of months using wordpress (check out my wordpress blog) and have really enjoyed it so I'm not about to stop. I got to go now, look forward to blogging again tomorrow.
P.S I love Technology.
